Hey,
I have guys read a number of incredibly powerful books as part my program.
One of the books is about confidence – how to find it – and how to LIVE it. In this book, Barbara DeAngelis
outlines THREE types of confidence.
My role in your life is to help you NAIL the first two types of confidence. These are critical to your success and nothing will improve in your life without them.
Barbara describes the first type of confidence as BEHAVIORAL
CONFIDENCE.
This is a solid belief in yourself and your ability to DO what needs to be done. This is confidence that you can (and will) take care of the things that need to be taken care of. You are strong in your ability to prioritize and motivate yourself to follow things through to completion.
She describes the second type of confidence as EMOTIONAL CONFIDENCE.
This is the knowledge and awareness that you bring emotional value to the world and your relationships. You are confident that you are in touch with your emotions and understand what they mean. You are unashamed of showing emotions, sharing emotions, and dealing with the
emotions of others in your life. You have “mastered your emotional world”.
But without the 3rd type of confidence, you’re probably screwed when it comes to achieving the first two.
And as much as I can blab on about its importance, I’m not the guy who can
help you nail this one.
Who is?
You are.
Barbara calls the third type of confidence SPIRITUAL CONFIDENCE.
She says, “Spiritual confidence in your trust in the Universe, your conviction that life will have a positive outcome, your belief you’re here for a reason, and that there’s a purpose to your 70 or 80 or 90 years spend on this planet.”
She also believes that it’s hard to TRULY develop the other two types of confidence if you are lacking spiritual
confidence.
Why?
One reason I find in most men is that they have hard time REALLY believing that they DESERVE to have the life they want. They wonder if they were really MEANT TO BE HAPPY.
While they appear successful in the jobs they do and have close, emotional friendships with many people, they are restless and frustrated deep down.
When it comes to their feelings of love, connection, passion, fulfillment, well-being and personal satisfaction their stomach is in knots.
Without spiritual clarity about who we are, why we’re here, what we value and what we DESERVE it’s hard to trust ourselves.
It’s difficult to come out and SAY what we want to say - what NEEDS to be said.
And it’s extremely uncomfortable to DO what we want
to do - what MUST be done.
Like I said, I’m not a spiritual leader and no expert in achieving spiritual confidence. But one thing I DO know is that when I started paying attention to it, everything changed for me.
“Spirituality” for my most successful clients is all over the map. They
describe their spiritual confidence in many different ways.
But they all have one thing in common.
It’s best summed up by Barbara DeAngelis:
“Ultimately, spiritual confidence is a quiet,
gentle sense of peace. It fills your heart and nurtures your spirit. It allows you to travel your path knowing that you’re on the right road, and trusting that wherever you are is just where you need to be.”
When you can balance that type of confidence with the other two, the stomach knots disappear. A switch flips in you and there is no turning back. It
changes the whole game. I hear it all the time. And I LOVE it.
I know it’s hard to believe at this moment. But believe me, you’ve got this in you. You really do.
And, yes. You DO deserve it!
With tons of love to you, brother,
Steve
P.S. The type of work I do with men is deep and it’s powerful. Sure there is plenty of back slapping, laughter and encouragement. But it is the most honest, vulnerable and life changing work you will ever do. If you
want to “kick the tires” and feel what it’s like, contact me to schedule a free strategy session. I’d be honored to help you any way I can.
