What It Means If You Don't Have Many Close Male Friends

Hey brother,

In the first 30 minutes of every men's retreat I've attended, I hear words like this:

Ever since I got married, my male friends have disappeared
All my guy friends seem to just be husbands of my wife's friends
I've never felt comfortable being emotionally open with other men
Most guys I know don't want to talk about relationship stuff
I wish I could find guy friends who were more like me

What does it mean if you don't have many close male friends?

It means you're just like the rest of us. It's pretty much an epidemic!

Most men these days have work friends, drinking buddies, football friends and family members to talk to.

Most men these days have only their wife and kids to connect with.

Most men these days do NOT have anyone who really freakin' CARES about their internal thoughts, feelings, fears and emotions about their work, their life or their marriage.

Why is this true?

It's because most of us have not learned the art of BEING an emotionally strong, courageous and open-hearted friend.

To HAVE good, close, trustable guys in your life, you have to BE one of those guys. Once you put that energy out into your life, you attract better friends and create deeper friendships.

Kind of like these guys.
