What My CPA Told Me
His name is Ralph.
And what Ralph had to say made me nervous.
He said:
"I work with a LOT of guys who want to start a business later in life. They have good intentions and they are all good at the inside game of their business. They know their skill well...but nothing about being committed to the business of running a business."
I was feeling a little nauseous as he rattled off the critical importance of tax planning, payroll taxes, LLC vs S-Corp status and "big boy bookkeeping" (argh..I hate bookkeeping).
He kindly pointed out I
wasn't getting any younger and I should have an iron clad plan for both investing in the business and myself.
The drone continued with investment planning, 401K plans, profit sharing and taking advantage of all the allowable business deductions without getting locked up by the IRS.
Then he said, "THAT's what I mean by playing like a big boy."
Silence. One big, deep breath from me and...
"I'm in. I need your help. Teach me everything I need to know."
Later, I began to realize if I had this kind of commitment in high school, I would have been a much better student and soccer player.
If I had this kind of commitment to learning how to date I would have had more than 5 dates in 4 years of college.
If I had this kind of commitment to learning how to be
with a woman as a secure, mature man I would have had an entirely different experience of marriage.
BOTTOM LINE:
What are you truly committed to learning?
What are you truly determined to master in this life?
There's one thing I know for sure. When a man finds his commitment he suddenly finds that the world starts opening up to him. Ideas, opportunities, relationships and money begin to appear in ways that look like magic.
It's not magic. It's commitment...and the compound
effect of small steps...staying focused on the one thing you want more than anything else.
My business plan is simple.
Help men find themselves, their
inherent gifts and their commitment to creating the real life they want.

Join the club brother. And at some point you might think about actually thanking her for the wake up call. That will be another life changing moment for you.
What now?
I don't know.
You tell me.
Would you like to start with spirited, fun and somewhat ball-busting conversation for
about 90 minutes?
Would you like to be totally seen, heard and understood for the first time in years?
Would you like to explore how this coaching thing really works and
how you just might start the most amazing decade of your life?
Cool. That's what we do every single day.
